Short answer: Profound and Otterly.AI both run your prompts through AI engines every day and report whether your brand is mentioned and cited, but they sit at opposite ends of the market. Otterly.AI publishes every price: $29/month for 15 prompts, $189/month for 100 and $489/month for 400, with ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity and Microsoft Copilot included and unlimited team members on every plan. Profound is sales-led: brands get a free 7-day trial (50 prompts a day on ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overviews), then a custom Enterprise quote that can track up to 9 answer engines. Pick Otterly if you want a published price and a fast start. Pick Profound if you are an enterprise team that needs crawler analytics, SSO and AI agents, and can wait for a contract.

How much do Profound and Otterly cost?
Pricing is the biggest difference between the two, so here are the exact numbers. Everything below was read from each vendor's own pricing page on November 2, 2026.
Otterly.AI pricing
| Otterly.AI plan | Monthly | Annual (per month) | Prompts | Notable extras |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Lite | $29 | $25 | 15 | 1 workspace, 3 recommendations a week, 1,000 GEO audits a month |
| Standard | $189 | $160 | 100 | Unlimited workspaces, API and MCP access, Agent Analytics, Looker Studio connector |
| Premium | $489 | $422 | 400 | Higher API, MCP and Agent Analytics limits, personal onboarding |
| Enterprise | Custom | Custom | From 1,000 | SSO, custom terms, dedicated customer success manager |
Every plan tracks prompts daily on ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity and Microsoft Copilot. Extra prompts cost $99 per 100 on Standard and Premium (Lite can't add them), and Standard can add up to 300 before you are moved to Premium.
The other engines are add-ons, priced by plan:
| Add-on engine | Lite | Standard | Premium |
|---|---|---|---|
| Google AI Mode | $9/month | $59/month | $149/month |
| Google Gemini | $9/month | $59/month | $149/month |
| Claude | $29/month | $109/month | $439/month |
So "all seven engines" on Standard costs $189 + $59 + $59 + $109 = $416/month for 100 prompts. On Lite it is $29 + $9 + $9 + $29 = $76/month for 15 prompts. Otterly says there is a free trial for new users but does not state its length on the pricing page.
Profound pricing
Profound's pricing page lists two options for brands:
- Trial (free): 50 unique prompts run daily for 7 days on ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overviews. You get a recommended prompt set for your industry and cannot edit it. One language, one region, limited AI Marketer credits, 5 Prompt Volumes searches, and no history, exports or API.
- Enterprise (custom): a tailored prompt plan tracked daily, up to 9 answer engines (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Mode, Gemini, Microsoft Copilot, DeepSeek, Claude, Google AI Overviews and Exa Search), ChatGPT Shopping, all-time history, CSV and JSON exports, API access, SSO/SAML, SOC 2 compliance and dedicated support.
There is no published brand price after the trial. The only self-serve price is for agencies: Profound's Agency Growth plan adds client workspaces at $399/month each, and each one tracks 100 custom prompts on ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews with 400 agent credits a month. Extra pitch workspaces are $199/month for 5 more. Profound's AI agents run on credits on every plan.
What 100 prompts actually costs
The fairest comparison is the same workload. At list prices, tracking about 100 prompts a month:
- Otterly Standard: $189/month on four engines, or $416/month with AI Mode, Gemini and Claude added.
- Profound Agency Growth: $399/month per client workspace on three engines (agencies only).
- Profound Enterprise: quoted; no public number.
Per tracked prompt, that works out to roughly:
| Plan | Price | Prompts | Cost per prompt per month |
|---|---|---|---|
| Otterly Premium | $489 | 400 | $1.22 |
| Otterly Standard | $189 | 100 | $1.89 |
| Otterly Lite | $29 | 15 | $1.93 |
| Profound Agency client workspace | $399 | 100 | $3.99 |

What each tool tracks
Both tools do the same core job: send a fixed set of prompts to AI engines on a schedule, then record brand mentions, cited sources, sentiment and share of voice against competitors. The differences are in depth, engines and extras.
Profound: deep analytics, crawler data and agents
- Answer Engine Insights reports visibility, citations, sentiment and share of voice per prompt and engine.
- Agent Analytics reads server or CDN logs (Akamai, AWS, Cloudflare, Fastly, Google Cloud, Netlify, Vercel, WordPress, plus Google Analytics) to show how AI crawlers and assistants hit your site, with unlimited domains even on the trial.
- Prompt Volumes estimates what people ask AI engines, which helps decide what to track.
- AI Marketer and Agents are credit-based workflows for research, content and reporting.
- ChatGPT Shopping tracking is included on Enterprise.
The trade-off is access. The trial runs on prompts Profound picks for you, keeps no history and has no exports, so it is a demo of the product rather than a real test on your own buyer questions.
Otterly.AI: published plans and a broad toolkit
- Brand visibility and sentiment reporting, including a Brand Visibility Index, share of voice metrics and brand variation tracking.
- Citation source tracking and link citation analysis, plus a domain ranking of the sites AI engines cite most for your prompts.
- GEO audits of your own pages (1,000 a month on Lite, 5,000 on Standard, 10,000 on Premium), with crawlability and content checks.
- Prompt research and query fan-out tools to build a prompt list.
- Agent Analytics, API and MCP access from Standard up.
- Unlimited brands, competitors, countries and languages on every plan, plus unlimited team members.
The limit is depth at the top end. Otterly's base engines are four, the rest are add-ons, and enterprise controls like SSO start at its custom Enterprise plan.
Where each one falls short
| Weak spot | Profound | Otterly.AI |
|---|---|---|
| Public pricing | None for brands after the trial | Fully published, including add-ons |
| Testing on your own prompts | Trial prompts are fixed by Profound | Your own prompts from day one |
| Engine coverage | Up to 9 on Enterprise | 4 included; AI Mode, Gemini and Claude cost extra |
| Data history and export | None on the trial | Reports and export on every plan |
| Enterprise controls | SSO, SOC 2, dedicated specialist | SSO only on Enterprise |
| Getting cited | Agents help with content; no placements | Recommendations; no placements |
Neither tool earns citations for you. Both show you where competitors are cited and you are not; closing that gap is still work for your team or an agency. Our guide to choosing a GEO agency covers that side.
One caveat applies to both. AI answers change from run to run: in a SparkToro and Gumshoe study of 2,961 runs, there was less than a 1 in 100 chance that ChatGPT or Google's AI gave the same list of brands twice for the same prompt. Daily tracking is useful because it turns noisy answers into a rate over many runs, so judge either tool on weeks of data, not one screenshot.
Which should you choose?
Choose Profound if:
- You need up to 9 engines, including DeepSeek, Claude and Copilot, in one contract.
- You want to see how AI crawlers use your site from server logs, not just what answers say.
- SSO, SOC 2 and a dedicated specialist are requirements, and a sales process is fine.
Choose Otterly.AI if:
- You want a published monthly price and can start today.
- You track up to a few hundred prompts across a handful of brands or markets.
- You want unlimited seats without an enterprise contract.
Choose neither if:
- You want the citations earned, not only measured. Measurement tools show the gap; someone still has to get you onto the pages AI cites.
- You want other options compared. Our Profound alternatives roundup covers Peec AI, Semrush and Ahrefs Brand Radar too, and Profound vs Semrush compares the two biggest suites.
Where Kollavo fits
Kollavo is not a like-for-like copy of either tool. It is built for brands that want to be named in AI answers without an enterprise contract or a long prompt-tracking setup:
- Entry, $49/month: a weekly visibility score across ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Mode, share of voice against competitors, citation gap alerts, PDF reports and email alerts.
- Managed, $99/month: everything in Entry plus 10 to 15 directory and AI-source submissions a month on the sources AI already cites.

How to run a fair trial of either tool

- Write 20 to 50 buyer prompts in your customers' words. The prompt generator and our glossary entry on prompt tracking help you pick them. On Profound's trial you can't use your own, so note how close its suggested set is to your real buyer questions.
- Add 3 to 5 named competitors, because visibility only means something relative to them.
- Track for at least two weeks and compare share of voice over repeated runs, not single answers.
- Export the cited sources. The pages each engine cites for your prompts are your outreach list.
- Price your real workload, including extra engines, extra prompts and agency workspaces.
Our LLM citation tracking guide explains how to set up the same test by hand if you want a baseline before paying for either.
